YOUTUBE VIDEO EDITING (BTS of how I edit videos QUICKLY!)

I made a couple of videos on how to edit videos, but I wanted to give you a behind the scenes of how I edit videos quickly for YouTube. Just so you know, everything in planning and filming has to be organized before you even start editing. Get an inside look at my YouTube video editing process.

YOUTUBE VIDEO EDITING (BTS of how I edit videos QUICKLY!)

Today I’m going to be talking about YouTube video editing. Specifically, I’m going to give you a behind the scenes look at how I edit my videos quickly. So I know I’ve talked about simple video editing or video made easy in a video before but I thought it would be easier to show you how I actually edit my video.

01 Get organized

Before I get into how I edit my videos quickly for YouTube. I wanted to talk about planning and filming. Those two have to be organized before you can quickly edit your videos. So if that’s a mess, then this video editing isn’t going to work.

Open Adobe Premiere and name your project after the video that you’re actually editing. A few weeks ago, I talked about organizing your video files. You’re going to add your Adobe file (or your software file) to the folder called ‘Editing’ your YouTube video file. Make sure all your files are named correctly. Even your footage should be named with your final video title and then numbered in sequential order.

How to organize your video files so you can edit your YouTube videos faster

I’m a total neat freak. I’m the type to keep all my stuff organized and put things back where they go. Yes, I’m one of those people who organize their closet by types of clothes, color, and occasion. I know exactly where all my stuff is and I never have to look for anything.

Even my mess is organized. Right now on my desk, I have Post-its and papers everywhere, but in a way that I can find what I need quickly. You might be thinking that I’m so awesome for keeping my stuff organized, but let me tell you, it’s out of laziness. That’s right, I’m too lazy to clean, so I put things back where they go. It’s that simple. The same principle applies to video editing.

How to use Asana to keep up with all your business tasks

I’ve gone through a lot of checklist tools and project management tools BUT Asana is my favorite. Trello used to be my favorite, but then Asana created boards. I’m more of a checklist type of person anyway.

The #1 reason I stick to Asana is because of the flying unicorn, yeti and other mythical creatures that fly by when I finish my tasks. It’s like a little reward for finishing my work.

What can you use Asana for?

I like to use Asana for both business and personal tasks, but I’m going to focus solely on business tasks. I use it to manage client projects, create videos, write blog posts, write newsletters, keeping up with social media, create products, and other projects. Basically, I use it to organize and manage my business.

Video editing made easy

Do you hate video editing? Does it take up too much of your time? Well here’s a quick and easy way to edit videos for your business. Basically, video editing made easy.

The #1 reason my clients come to me to edit their videos is because they HATE video editing. It takes up too much of their time and energy that they could have put towards other business projects.

In this week’s video, I’m going to show you a quick and easy way to edit videos for your business. Basically, video editing made easy and less time-consuming.

Video editing made easy

It’s all in the Filming

It all starts during the filming process. If you watched the video on how to have quicker video shoots, then you know you need to film in sections.

If you didn’t catch that video, then watch it here.  It should be in the cards in this video, which is in the upper right-hand side, the icon that looks like a lowercase ‘i’.

Filming in sections will also help make video editing easier. Instead of editing one long video, it’s faster to edit sections.

Another thing to do while filming is to clap every time you make mistakes. If you see a big spike on the sound wave from where you clapped or if you see the clap, you know to disregard this section and go on to the next. This saves so much time in editing because you can just fast forward past the mistakes instead of wasting time watching each mistake.

How to plan so you have an easy video shoot

Don’t know where to start when it comes to creating videos? Here’s my step by step video creation process to plan and schedule your videos. The goal is to plan so you have easy video shoot.

How to plan so you have an easy video shoot

There are 3 stages creating videos. These are the pre-production phase, the production phase, and the post-production phase.

Let’s start with the Pre-production phase.

This is the most important phase of the 3 phases. Without this phase, the whole video content process is a mess. Everything will be unorganized and it’ll take longer to create your videos. We all know that time equals money.

Pre-production can be a big process when it comes to creating big productions, but we’re only talking about creating short videos for YouTube or your other social media channels.

We’re going to keep this super simple. You only need 2 things and that’s to brainstorm your video content ideas and create your script. That’s it.

Video Editing and Design for Heather Hartman Coaching

When Heather Hartman first hired me, she wanted me to edit her Facebook live videos into IG TV videos.

If you ever been to a Facebook live, you know that there’s a lot of distractions when you’re live. The reason most businesses go on Facebook live is to give information to their audience. BUT, because it’s live, you also want to talk and interact with your audience.

The combination of giving the information and engaging with your audience makes the video longer than it needs to be. I was tasked with editing out all the small talk and repetitive information so that it’ll fit into the IG TV standard of 10 minutes.

Besides the usual editing of sound, lighting, and bloopers, I also had to change the video dimensions since IG TV is usually viewed on the phone.

Here’s one of the videos I edited for Heather Hartman Coaching.

Once we finished this project, Heather Hartman wanted to start a YouTube channel and get serious about creating content.

For this project, I’m taking on the role of her Channel Manager and creating the thumbnails for each video.
