Create the perfect YouTube Channel Banner

YouTube should be an extension of your business, so you should brand your YouTube channel like you’re branding your business. The first step to branding your YouTube channel and creating a personal brand is to update your YouTube channel art, also known as your YouTube channel banner. Keep watching to get tips on how to create the perfect YouTube Channel Banner.

How to create the perfect YouTube channel banner

In this super short video, we’re going to talk about designing your branded YouTube channel art. This’ll be super short because it shouldn’t be complicated. The first step to creating the perfect YouTube channel banner is to treat your YouTube channel like your own television show.

So we’re going to talk about what to add to your YouTube channel art and how to brand it.

The info you need to create the perfect YouTube Channel Banner

First, we’re going to talk about what information to include on your YouTube channel banner.

Like I said earlier, treat this like your own show. That means, make sure you include the name of your show or business, what your show is about or who it’s for, and when your show airs so that people know when the new episodes come out.

It’s sort of like Law & Order SVU. There’s the show name. The summary of the show is really long. It’s actually the opening of the show:

In the criminal justice system, sexually-based offenses are considered especially heinous. In New York City, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Victims Unit. These are their stories.

If they were a YouTube channel, it would be shortened to something like NYPD investigations focused on sexually related crimes

I don’t know what day it comes on because it’s been so long since I’ve watched it, so I’m going to guess every Sunday at 10 pm/central.

You don’t have to put what time you upload your videos, but saying what day is important.

This way, when viewers come to your YouTube channel, they know what your channel is about and when to expect new episodes.

Branding

Once you know the information you want to add to your YouTube channel banner, make sure to use your branding. Use your brand fonts, your brand colors, and your brand voice so you’re audience can recognize your brand all across your channels.

You want your audience to associate your YouTube channel with your business.

Personal branding

Last week, I talked about the importance of personal branding. If you missed it, you can watch it here.

If you decided to implement personal branding, then make sure to add yourself to your channel banner. That way your future clients know your face.

If you think about it, most television and movie posters have the actors in it. Just look at this Law & Order banner on NBC. Olivia Benson, Ice T, and the other main characters are on the banner.
