If you’re on YouTube, you’re trying to stand out with your content and attract your target audience and get them to subscribe to your channel. You know what’s not going to get subscribers? Boring how-to videos. I’m not saying to stop doing those videos. In fact, I think they’ll attract your audience. People go to YouTube to learn how to do things. BUT, if you want them to hit subscribe, then you have to think like a lifestyle vlogger. That’s why I created 7 video content ideas for businesses on YouTube to help grow their following.
Why think like a lifestyle vlogger? If you’ve ever been on YouTube, you’ll notice that these people are like celebrities. Viewers watch their videos mainly because they can relate to them or want to become them. It’s rare that people will subscribe just to learn something. In fact, a lot of people love to binge watch videos when they go on YouTube. Who wants to binge-watch educational videos?
Basically, you have to build a connection with your audience. Your viewers have to form an attachment to you, and the best way is to think like a lifestyle vlogger. Below are 7 video content ideas to add personality to your channel.
7 video content ideas for businesses on YouTube
01. Behind the Scenes or Inside look
You can do a behind the scenes look at your office or a process of your business. This is the number one reason why we stalk celebrities. We want to know their daily routine, how to be as successful as them, and just everything about their life.
Business video ideas:
- Inside look at your morning routine
- An inside look at how you stay productive
- Behind the scenes of your work process
- Inside look at how you plan your work day
02. Monthly favorites
If you’ve watched lifestyle videos, you’ll notice that there are quite a few ‘Monthly Favorites’ videos. These videos consist of products that vloggers loved that month. You can take this same concept and use it for your business. Also, if you’re an affiliate, this is an extra way to promote to your audience without being too salesy.
Video ideas:
- Book reviews
- Favorite tools that you’re using
- Favorite product that you’re using in your business or that helps your business
03. Hauls
I love watching hauls. They’re basically videos that are about all the products that a vlogger bought at a certain place. For example, a ‘makeup haul from Sephora’ would be all the makeup products that they bought from Sephora. The video is just showcasing everything they bought and maybe why they bought it or what they expect from the product.
Video ideas:
- Resource haul
- Tools haul
- Book haul
Note: You can also use the products in these hauls as spin-offs for other videos, like a ‘Monthly’ video or behind the scenes of how you use the product.

04. Empties
Empties are usually used by beauty vloggers. Basically, it’s beauty products that they used until the container was empty. If you’re a guy reading this, just know that this is a rare feat for women who love beauty products. With this type of video, you can list what you would or wouldn’t use ( or do) again for your business.
Video ideas:
- Products or services you used and would/wouldn’t use again
- Courses that you have finished and what you learned from them
- Products that you have used for a month or year and why.
05. Facts about me
This one’s self-explanatory. Just give 5 (or any other number) of facts about you and your business. This video will help your audience get to know you better.
06. What I would do differently…
This is kind of a way to get to know you. It’s also a way to make you human. People are not perfect and it’s always cool to show that you also had to work hard to get where you are now.
Video ideas:
- What I would do differently if I could start over
- If I had a budget of… this is what I would have done
- What I would do differently if I knew about…
07. 5 minutes/moves/ways/etc.
This one is used mostly for fitness vlogs. Some examples are ‘Get abs of steels in 5 minutes’ or ‘5 moves to tighten that rear’. This is enticing because 5 minutes or 5 moves sounds so simple and easy. This doesn’t have to be 5, but keep it at a low number to show how easy it is.
Video ideas:
- 5 ways to make more money
- Get more clients in 5 minutes
- Get organized with these 5 steps
These are 7 video content ideas for businesses on YouTube that’ll help your viewers hit ‘subscribe’. Each one is still business related but adds a lifestyle element so that we get to know you and your business better.
