Project Summary
During the consultation call, I ask questions to try to get a feel for the brand. Tutor in Tinseltown was determined to be bright and colorful. The main words to describe the business are: playful, educational, and professional. Surprisingly, while creating the mood board, the direction changed.
The images chosen by the client had a more whimsical atmosphere (which still fit the word playful) so the designs were based on this new idea, along with still being professional and educational. Since the age range for the audience’s children is 4 to 20, the goal was not to look too elementary.
That focus became the end goal. If I wanted to create something with such a broad age range, I had to think, ‘What is the goal that all parents want for their children?’ Do they want them to be doctors, teachers, engineers, and etc.? For behavior, do they just want them to be good kids or do they want them to fit in with society?
The answer is most parents, in general, want their kids to be happy, and so that’s why they want them to be successful in everything that they do. This main thought inspired the mood board. Everyone wants a ‘happy ending’ for their child. From this theme, the logo, collateral items, video intro, and website were created.
